Knicks power forward Amar'e Stoudemire sprained his left ankle during the fourth quarter of the Knicks blowout loss to the Los Angles Lakers on Thursday. According to Howard Beck of the New York Times Amar'e will not play tonight's game against the Sacramento Kings.
Amare Stoudemire will sit out tonight's game in Sacto to rest his sprained ankle.
It's early, but the 29 year-old Stoudemire is not having a good season. He's averaging 17 points – down from 25 last season. He's only shooting 40 percent from the field – down from 50 percent last year, an abysmal for a big man. And he's turning the ball over at a high rate – three per game.
Already thin in the front court, the Knicks may have trouble with DeMarcus Cousins and the Kings big men without Stoudemire tonight.
