NBA Schedule: Knicks, Celtics Headline Christmas Day Lineup
The NBA officially announced its Christmas Day schedule Friday, and the New York Knicks -- as expected -- will host the Boston Celtics at 12 p.m. on TNT. The rematch of last year's playoffs will open the NBA schedule.

The New York Knicks 2011-2012 schedule was been released following a special broadcast on NBA TV at 7 p.m. All of the NBA teams have now released their 66-game schedules for the upcoming season. The Knicks will open their 2011-2012 regular season at Madison Square Garden against the Boston Celtics on Christmas Day at 12 p.m. in a nationally televised game on TNT.
The Knicks have games against the New Jersey Nets at home on Feb. 4 (7:30 p.m.) and Feb. 20 (7:30 p.m.). The Knicks' road game against the Nets will be on April 18 (7:30 p.m.).
The Knicks and Miami Heat will meet up three times as well. All of the games will be nationally televised. The Knicks will travel to Miami on Jan. 27 (8 p.m., ESPN) and Feb. 23 (7 p.m., TNT). New York will host the Heat on April 15 at 1 p.m. on ABC.
The New York Knicks' schedule for the 2011-12 season will be announced Tuesday night in a televised broadcast during which each team's schedule will be revealed.
The show takes place at 7 p.m. ET on NBA TV. Schedules are expected to be released at 7:15 p.m.
The Denver Post's Benjamin Hochman reports that New York will not visit the Denver Nuggets this season, meaning Carmelo Anthony will not play in his former home stadium as a member of the Knicks until 2012-13. Anthony is thought to have forced a trade from Denver, ending his time with the Nuggets and resulting in a contract extension with New York.
The NBA has announced that all teams will play a two-game exhibition schedule prior to the abbreviated regular season opening on Christmas Day. In a treat for regional hoop fans, the New York Knicks and New Jersey Nets will face each other in a home-and-home series that will comprise the preseason schedule for both teams.
The first game will be played Saturday, Dec. 17 at 2 p.m. ET at the Prudential Center in Newark. The rematch will be held Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 7:30 p.m. ET at Madison Square Garden.
