Carmelo Anthony Exhibition Game: Knicks Forward Assembling Star-Studded Game in New York City

Carmelo Anthony said he is putting together a star-studded exhibition game that would take place in New York City during mid-November, in case the NBA lockout is not lifted. The game would likely include Chris Paul, Lebron James and Dwyane Wade.

Oct 10, 2011 - New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony said he is working toward putting together a star-studded exhibition game in case the NBA lockout is not lifted, according to a report from the New York Post

The game would likely take place in New York City during mid-November and would probably include LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Paul.

"We're going to keep giving back," Anthony said.

On his Twitter account yesterday, Anthony started banging the drums for his Big Apple charity-fest.

"Working on an epic exhibition charity game in NYC," he wrote. "Showtime. I'm comin' home."

The NBA is meeting with the players union today in hopes of ending the lockout and preserving the first two weeks of the regular season, but Anthony did not sound optimistic about the negotiations.

"I don't think anything is going to happen between now and Monday," Anthony added. "So we've just got to be prepared for that, be prepared for the lockout for the first two weeks and see where all this is going."

As the lockout presses on, Anthony noted that it's a bad situation for everybody involved.

"It's sad all the way across," he told the Post. "It's [sad] for us as players. It's sad for the owners. It's sad for the fans of the NBA."
