If the New Jersey Nets are going to finally close the deal on Carmelo Anthony, it won't be the next couple of days.  Or at least that's what head coach Avery Johnson is saying.

"When and if we decide to make a trade, we'll announce it. We don't have anything to announce except, 'This is our team, and this is who we're taking to Phoenix.' "

Though as we have all seen throughout this process, things can change quickly and Johnson knows that.

"Now, if for some reason [owner] Mikhail Prokorov and [GM] Billy [King] calls and tells me something different, then we’ll have to adjust."

So the trade isn't going to happen ...  unless it does.
