Morning Coffee! David Lee Makes Knicks Pay

Good morning, New York sports fans. A mixed bag for you in this today's first look at the New York sports scene.

  • Former Knick David Lee celebrated his return to the Madison Square Garden by dropping 28 points and 10 rebounds on New York in a 122-117 victory. Oh, and a Lee elbow separated a Wilson Chandler tooth from his mouth. The emotional folks over at Posting and Toasting are not happy this morning.

  • The New Jersey Nets snapped a five-game losing streak with a 95-87 victory over Cleveland.
  • ↵
  • Ilya Kovalchuk has certainly not had a good start to his New Jersey Devils' career. Benchings, criticism and lots of losing. Last night Kovy had a chance to do something about the losing, and muffed his opportunity. The $100 million dollar man flubbed a chance in shootout as the Devils lost to Buffalo, 5-4.

  • The New York Islanders have now lost eight straight after suffering a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Anaheim Ducks Wednesday night.
