The New York Jets waived seven players on Saturday, trimming the roster to 80 as the mandatory cut dates approach. The seven players waived were guard Terrence Campbell, long snapper Derek Chard, defensive tackle Matt Hardison, wide receiver Dexter Jackson, cornerback LeQuan Lewis, safety Marcus Lott, and wide receiver Raymond Webber.

Campbell, Hardison, and Lott were all undrafted free agents signed in the spring. All seven players failed to make much of an impact during the first two preseason games and were consequently let go before the "dress rehearsal" third preseason game on Sunday Night Football against the Panthers.

Most teams started at the full 90-player threshold and need to cut down to 75 players by Monday, August 27 at 4 p.m. ET. Mike Tannenbaum and Rex Ryan will need to trim the roster with five more cuts by Monday afternoon.
