In its most recent NFL Mock Draft, released Monday morning, SB Nation has chosen Alabama outside linebacker Courtney Upshaw for the New York Jets, who hold the 16th overall selection of the first round.

Upshaw has been a popular mock draft selection for the Jets in this spot, since they could use a playmaker on the edge of their 3-4 front. There is, however, speculation that while the Jets are looking for a pass-rusher off the edge, that Upshaw might not be their guy. There have been reports that the Jets are trying to pry the draft's seventh overall pick away from the Jacksonville Jaguars, a pick they would then use to select South Carolina DE/OLB Melvin Ingram.

The Jets could also go offensive line here, with players like Cordy Glenn of Georgia and Jonathan Martin of Stanford still on the board. There is also some thought that the safety position could use an upgrade, despite the free-agent signing of LaRon Landry. The top-rated safety on the board is Mark Barron of Alabama.
