Tim Tebow Trade Fallout: Drew Stanton Wants Out Of New York, According To Report

Stay connected for news and updates

Well, that didn't take long. Less than 24 hours after the completion of the Tim Tebow trade, New York Jets quarterback Drew Stanton - who was recently signed to backup Mark Sanchez - is seeking out of New York, according to a tweet from Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.

The move to acquire Tebow presumably eliminates Stanton's chances to hang on to his backup role, and the former Detroit Lion will likely seek to move to another franchise for the opportunity to assume a backup gig.

After the Broncos willingly allowed Tim Tebow to choose between the Jets and the Jaguars, perhaps the Jets will follow suit and grant Stanton his wish as well.
