2011 NFL Draft: Outside Linebacker For Jets?

Stay connected for news and updates

This week's mock draft update for the New York Jets finds the outside linebacker position more popular than it has been in previous weeks, with both NFL.com mock drafts selecting Justin Houston from Georgia and the National Football Post taking Akeem Ayers. Most people agree the Jets top two needs are defensive line and outside linebacker but defensive line has been a more popular pick these past few months than linebacker.

Houston and Ayers could both provide a much needed boost to the Jets pass rush and give them a long term replacement for Bryan Thomas at outside linebacker. It is safe to say at this point, it would be a pretty big upset if the Jets don't end up with somebody for their defensive front seven in the first round.
