Jim Leonhard Injury Update: Darrelle Revis Says 'I Heard He's Out For The Season'

The New York Jets defeated the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday but lost starting safety Jim Leonhard in the process. In the second quarter, Leonhard injured his right leg after making an interception and being tackled by Chiefs wide receiver Steve Breaston. Leonhard was helped by trainers to the sideline but was then carted off the field to the locker room.

After the game, Leonhard's teammate Darrelle Revis said:

I heard he's out for the season. That's what I heard on the sideline. (via Manish Mehta's Twitter)

Losing Leonhard in the secondary would be a big loss for the Jets. It should be noted that Revis has not talked directly with Leonhard or been notified officially of Leonhard's status.

Leonhard's 2010 season was ended when he broke his right leg last December during practice.
