A one-yard touchdown run by quarterback Mark Sanchez has helped the New York Jets take an early advantage over the Kansas City Chiefs, which trail 7-3 after one quarter of play in Week 14 NFL match up at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. Sanchez capped a solid 11-play, 77-yard, game-opening drive with a naked bootleg that allowed him to trot into the endzone untouched.

The march, which was almost halted at the Chiefs three-yard line but a defensive hold call on 3rd-and-3 kept it alive, was highlighted by a 31-yard run by running back Shonn Greene, who busted up the middle on the game's first play. Green has 45-rushing yards on six carries.

Kansas City went three-and-out on its first possession of the game, but good field position on its second drive helped the Chiefs setup a 53-yard field goal attempt, which was made by kicker Ryan Succup with 4:41 to play.

The Jets second possession ended with a punt.
