The Jets and Jaguars have, predictably, held each other scoreless for the first quarter and a half of play on Sunday.
The New York Jets and Jacksonville Jaguars are mired in a scoreless tie early in the second quarter of play at EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Fla.
The two teams have combined for eight first downs, but it took the Jets almost the entire first quarter to get their first. The offense has been conservative, with Mark Sanchez completing 4 of 5 passes for 25 yards. Sanchez also lost a fumble early in the second quarter. The Jets have 56 yards of total offense, compared to 76 for the Jaguars.
Jacksonville quarterback Chad Henne has completed 7 of 9 passes for 47 yards, but threw an interception at the Jets' 11-yard line to end the Jaguars' scoring opportunity.
Jets running back Shonn Greene has picked up 16 yards on five carries, and Jaguars tailback Montell Owens has carried the ball six times for 23 yards.
Jets wide receiver Stephen Hill left the game in the second quarter with an injury. He has yet to catch a pass in the game, but has been targeted once.
