Tim Tebow admitted Wednesday that he was "a little disappointed" that New York Jets coach Rex Ryan bypassed him in favor of former third-string quarterback Greg McElroy when he chose to replace Mark Sanchezas the team's starting quarterback for Sunday's game against the San Diego Chargers.
"Obviously, as an athlete, as a competitor, you want to be out there helping your team, fighting for victories. I think it's fair to say that I'm a little disappointed," Tebow said. "I just believed that I would get an opportunity to try to compete as a quarterback and get opportunities, just doing whatever I can to help this team win, and that's been my goal since I got here and it'll be the goal for these next two weeks."
Tebow said he did not feel deceived by the Jets, nor did he regret coming to the team. He said that whether he asks for a trade is "something that we'll talk about after this season."
