Greg McElroy will get his first start against the San Diego Chargers and do so as a favorite.

The New York Jets will host the San Diego Chargers in their home finale of 2012 on Sunday, and will do so as 1-point favorites, according to oddsshark.com. The over/under line is at 40 1/2.

The line originally opened with the Jets as a 3-point favorite, but has moved significantly since thanks to the quarterback switch of Mark Sanchez to Greg McElroy. It will be the Alabama product's first career start.

New York is trying to bounce back from perhaps its ugliest showing of the season, a 14-10 defeat on Monday night to the Tennessee Titans that knocked it out of playoff contention.

On the other sideline, San Diego is just playing out the string as well, trying to save a little bit of face. It seems a certainty that head coach Norv Turner will be ousted at the end of the year, leaving much in doubt around the Chargers organization.
