Jets vs Titans second quarter: Chris Johnson touchdown gives Tennessee a 7-3 lead

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Jets find themselves down heading into halftime.

After gaining an early 3-0 advantage, the New York Jets defense allowed the Tennessee Titans to seize a lead.

New York pinned the Titans inside the 5-yard line on a punt, but the field position would not prevent Tennessee from scoring. A 94-yard run from Chris Johnson gave the Titans a 7-3 lead. After breaking through the line of scrimmage, Johnson breezed past the Jets' defenders for the score.

On the next series, Tim Tebow played quarterback for the entire Jets drive, but it lasted only five plays and New York was forced to punt.

Mark Sanchez was under center for the next drive. On the first play, he threw an interception to Jason McCourty.

The score stayed at 7-3 for the rest of the half. With the Jets struggling to stay in contention for a Wild Card spot, they will need to rally in the second half to win. A victory would keep them a game back of the Cincinnati Bengals.
