When asked about free agent wide receiver Terrell Owens Monday night, Jets head coach Rex Ryan didn't brush aside the question.

While the New York Jets' offense was struggling in a 23-17 loss to the Houston Texans Monday night, free agent wide receiver Terrell Owens was watching and tweeting he could help the Jets. Surprisingly, the plea may have worked as New York head coach Rex Ryan didn't brush off the topic of adding Owens during his post-game press conference.

The Jets' wide receiving corps is depleted, as their No. 1 option, Santonio Holmes, is out for the rest of the season. Tight end Dustin Keller could return in Week 6, but probably will not be 100-percent due to a hamstring injury.

New York's top receiver Monday night was second-year wide out Jeremy Kerley, who had five catches for 94 yards. The second option is Jeff Cumberland, who has just 13 catches through five weeks.

However, its unclear if Owens would be a better option. The 38-year-old wide receiver was given a chance to make theSeattle Seahawks roster during training camp but failed to do so.
