Jets vs. Dolphins odds: New York barely favorites in rematch of OT win

Marc Serota

The New York Jets are favored by less than a field goal five weeks after winning an overtime matchup, 23-20, on a Nick Folk game-winner against the Miami Dolphins.

The New York Jets are slight favorites over the Miami Dolphins for Sunday's game, right in line with the previous matchup between the teams, which ended on an overtime field goal.

The Dolphins have made a habit of playing close games of late, making them a tough team to pick. Since Week 3, all four of Miami's games have been decided by either three or four points. That streak started with a matchup in Miami against the Jets, where the Dolphins seemed to be the better team, but New York eked out the win when Miami missed a field goal in overtime, then called a timeout while the Jets' first attempt was blocked. The Dolphins won 17-13 over Cincinnati and 17-14 over St. Louis in back-to-back weeks before their bye.

The Jets looked doomed after Darrelle Revis was lost for the season in that game, followed by the loss of Santonio Holmes the next week, but have looked decent despite poor results. They played well against Houston in a loss, crushed Indianapolis, and lost in overtime against New England.

The point spread for the game opened with the Jets favored by the same margin of victory as the first game -- 3 points -- but has now shifted toward the Dolphins. The Jets are now listed as anywhere from 1- to 2 1/2-point favorites. Although they sit at 3-4 on the year, they're 5-2 against the spread.
