Shonne Greene ran for a career-high 161 yards Sunday as the New York Jets routed the Indianapolis Colts, 35-9.

New York Jets running back Shonn Greene entered Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts averaging only 2.9 yards per carry through five games. Yet, coach Rex Ryan said the Jets "knew we were close" to getting a big day from Greene.

Well, they got the biggest one of Greene's career in Sunday's 35-9 pummeling of the Colts. Greene carried 32 times for 161 yards, both career highs.

"We wanted to get that big back rolling, and we knew we were close. We've been working hard, and today we were able to get him going. When Shonn carries it that well and has that kind of production, it's great for the entire team," Ryan said.

The Jets (3-3) finished with 253 yards rushing as a team.

"It was pretty nice to get a win. What was it, (35-9), or something like that? It was nice to put points up on the board and that's what we want to do. We want to execute, stay on the field, keep our defense fresh and put points on the board," Greene said.
