Islanders Vs. Bruins Final Score: New York Beats Boston 3-2

The New York Islanders still have a lot of ground to make up if they're going to sneak into the Eastern Conference Playoffs, as they trail the eighth seed, Winnepeg Jets, by seven points, but Saturday's win over the Boston Bruins was a step in the right direction.

After a horrible start to the season the Islanders battled their way back to .500, where they remained for most of February, but a recent stretch of losing hockey has them on an uphill battle to get back to .500 and into the Eastern Conference playoff picture. Saturday's win improves their record to 27-29-9 on the season.

New York goalie, Evgeni Nabokov, was the star of the same, preventing 32 of the 34 Bruins' shots from touching the net. Josh Bailey, Matt Moulson and John Tavares all scored goals for the Isles.

The Islanders next scheduled game is Sunday, March 4, against the New Jersey Devils, who they play three consecutive times.
