The New York Islanders will look to end their busy four-game week Sunday with another solid victory, as they visit the Ottawa Senators at in an Eastern Conference showdown (5 p.m. ET on MSG-Plus) at the Scotiabank Place. The Islanders (26-27-8, 60 points) are coming off a solid shootout victory, 4-3, over the New York Rangers on Saturday, while the Senators are hoping Monday's result over New York is the same Sunday.
On Monday, New York was routed by Ottawa, 6-0, for its ninth shutout loss of the season. The loss was the first of two for the Isles' this week, which featured 2-1 edging at the Buffalo Sabres, Tuesday, but a gritty win against the visiting Rangers Sat.
The Islanders are eight points behind the Winnipeg Jets for the eighth and final playoff spot in the East.
Meanwhile, the Senators will be playing for the second time in less than 24 hours. On Saturday, Ottawa had its four-game winning streak end in a 5-3 loss to the visiting Boston Bruins.
