The New York Islanders look to continue their solid play Sunday, as they host the Florida Panthers in an Eastern Conference showdown (3 p.m. ET on MSG Plus) at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, NY. The Islanders (22-23-8, 54 points) have earned a point in nine of their last 11 games, while the Panthers (26-17-11, 63 points) have won four of the last six.
On Saturday, the Islanders earned an overtime victory, 2-1, over the visiting Los Angeles Kings. The victory helped New York move within eight points of the final Eastern Conference playoff spot, which is currently held by eighth-place Toronto Maple Leafs.
Meanwhile, the Panthers are trying to win back-to-back road games in more than a month, as on Saturday they won 3-1 at the New Jersey Devils.
Florida currently is in a tie with the Washington Capitals a top of the Southeast Division standings.
