Islanders Vs. Maple Leafs Final Score: New York Loses 4-3 In Overtime

The New York Islanders lost the second leg of its home-and-home with the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday night, falling 4-3 in overtime. P.A. Parenteau scored his 10th goal of the season in the closing seconds of regulation to force the extra period of play. Clarke MacArthur scored his second goal of the game just over two minutes into OT to cut short the Isles' comeback attempt, however.

The Islanders actually took a 2-0 lead on goals by John Tavares (his 20th on the year) and Josh Bailey (his second shorthanded goal in the last five days), but weren't prepared for an offensive onslaught by the Leafs beginning at the end of the second period.

With 1:05 left until the second intermission, MacArthur kicked off a stretch of three straight goals for Toronto, finding net from 12 feet out off of assists by Mikhail Grabovski and Nikolai Kulemin. Jake Gardiner and Grabovski added tallies in the third period to take a 3-2 lead until late in the game. Al Montoya started in place of Evgeni Nabokov, his first time between the pipes since Dec. 20, and struggled mightily. He let in four goals on just 21 shots faced for the game.
