The Islanders conclude their four-game road trip this weekend, and look to build on their modest two-game winning streak against the Blackhawks and Stars.
The 7-11-4 New York Islanders are set to play back-to-back road games this weekend; they play the Blackhawks in Chicago tonight before traveling to Dallas to face the Stars tomorrow night. With 18 points on the season the Islanders will be underdogs in both contests against two very good teams. The Blackhawks are 14-8-3 with 31 points – tied with Detroit for the most in the Central – and the Stars are 15-9-1 and first place in the Pacific.
The Islanders are 2-5-2 on the road this season, and didn't record their first victory away from home until a recent win over the Devils last Saturday. The followed up the Devils win with another road win against the Sabers. The Islanders have now won the first two games of their four-game road trip which concludes this weekend. The back-to-back wins marks only the second winning streak of the season for the Islanders.
