The New York Islanders begin a three-game road trip on Saturday when they visit the Minnesota Wild at 8 p.m. (MSG Plus 2).
New York led 2-1 entering the third period on Thursday night against the Dallas Stars, but surrendered two unanswered goals in the final frame and fell, 3-2. The loss, which came despite a goal and an assist from Kyle Okposo, was New York's third straight regulation defeat.
"It's definitely a tough loss when you have the lead like that," PA Parenteau said. "You are not playing your best hockey but you still have the lead. That's something we have to get better at, playing with the lead."
Minnesota leads the Northwest Division and is tied for the Western Conference lead with 44 points. The Wild, led by high-scoring center Mikko Koivu and sharp goalie Niklas Backstrom, are 7-2-1 in their last ten games and 10-4-2 at home.
