New York Islanders Vs. Tampa Bay Lightning: Preview, Game Time, Schedule

The Islanders have beaten the Lightning once in New York. Can they do it again on Tampa's home ice?

The New York Islanders are in Florida Thursday night to face the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Islanders have already beaten the Lightning once this season, a convincing 5-1 win in New York. John Tavares had two goals and two assists as part of a hot start to the season in which he is tied for third in the NHL is points. The center has kept it up, netting a hat-trick against the New York Rangers on Saturday in the Islanders last time out on the ice.

The Islanders are 3-1-0 this season and are hoping to end a four year absence from the postseason. The Lightning sit at 1-3-2 after reaching the Eastern Conference Finals one year ago.

One problem for the Lightning has been the power play. Tampa has netted three goals in 23 opportunities with the man advantage, including just one in their last 17 tries.
