The New York Islanders play three home games at the Nassau Coliseum this week, beginning Monday afternoon with a 1 p.m. ET start against the Minnesota Wild. The 0-1 Islanders are opening the season with a four-game homestand. On Thursday the Islanders host the Tampa Bay Lightning, and Saturday the New York Rangers visit.
Today's game against the Wild is an annual Columbus Day matinee for the Islanders which will be shown on MSG+.
The islanders did not play well in a season-opening 2-0 loss to Florida on Saturday.
"Like I told the guys (Sunday) morning, just forget about that game," Islanders head coach Jack Capuano said. "There is nothing we can take from that game. We didn't execute, we didn't do the little things. For whatever reason, it was a flat performance from us and I'll take total responsibility for that."
