The New York Giants are slight underdogs against the Carolina Panthers, but have lost both of their matchups against the spread thus far this season.

The New York Giants are slight underdogs heading into Thursday night's primetime showdown with the Carolina Panthers.

With less than 12 hours to kickoff in Charlotte, the Giants are showing up as anywhere from 1- to 3-point dogs, but they perhaps should not be too comfortable in that role. The Panthers found themselves as 3-point underdogs last week to the New Orleans Saints and won that game 35-27 behind a strong performance from Cam Newton. The Giants, are the other hand, are 0-2 against the spread despite a seven-point win thanks to a historic passing performance by Eli Manning. The Giants began as 2.5-point favorites, but some books have seen a slide as the Giants' offense has lost Hakeem NIcks and Ahmad Bradshaw for the lineup.

That lack of offense has also hurt the over/under, which started out at 52 but now is between 49 and 50.5 points. That might be a safe bet, considering both teams cleared that margin last week and the teams have gone over in six of the last seven matchups between the two.
