Fantasy Football Rankings 2012 (Wide Receivers): Giants' Victor Cruz, Hakeem Nicks Prove Safe Bets

Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz project as strong fantasy stars in 2012 at the WR position.

If you're looking for help at the wide reciever position when your fantasy draft rolls around, it seems you need look no further than the New York Giants' starting duo of Victor Curz and Hakeem Nicks.

The two Giants starters ranked eighth and 10th respectively in ProFootballWeekly's annual ranking of wide receivers. The highest ranking Jets receiver is wideout Santonio Holmes, who ranks all the way down at No. 33 on the list.

Nicks caught 76 passes in 2011, for a combined 1,192 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. Cruz, who caught his first pass in 2011, caught 82 total balls last year, for a combined 1,536 yards and nine touchdowns.

The Jets' Holmes accounted for less than half of either Cruz yardage (652), but did haul in eight touchdowns on the year.

The Lions' wide receiver Calvin Johnson led the 2012 preseason rankings from the site, with Cardinals wideout Larry Fitzgerald at No. 2 and the Patriots' Wes Welker at No. 3.
