2012 NFL Hall Of Fame Finalists: Bill Parcells, Curtis Martin Among Finalists

Parcells and Martin are two of 15 finalists who will be considered for election to the NFL Hall of Fame on Saturday.

Former NFL head coach Bill Parcells and running back Curtis Martin are two of 15 modern-era finalists who will be candidates for election to the NFL Hall of Fame when the Hall's Selection Committee convenes in Indianapolis, Ind. on Saturday.

Parcells coached 19 NFL seasons, winning two Super Bowls with the New York Giants, reaching a third with the New England Patriots and accumulating a 172-130 overall record. The Big Tuna spent the first eight seasons of his career with the Giants before leaving to the Patriots for four seasons. He then spent three seasons with the New York Jets and another three with the Dallas Cowboys.

Martin ran for 1,000 yards in each of his first 10 seasons, the latter seven spent with the New York Jets. The 1995 NFL AP Offensive Rookie of the Year, Martin was selected to five Pro Bowls, named to the 2004 All-Pro team, and is currently fourth on the NFL's all-time career rushing yards list.

To be elected, candidates must receive at least an 80 percent positive vote from the 44-member committee.
