Giants Vs. Falcons Score: New York Leads Atlanta, 17-2, After Three Quarters

A 74-yard touchdown reception by wide receiver Hakeem Nicks from quarterback Eli Manning and a 22-yard field goal by kicker Lawrence Tynes has helped the New York Giants increase their advantage over the Atlanta Falcons to 17-2 in a 2012 NFL playoff game, which has entered the fourth quarter.

Tynes first field goal of the day capped a 11-play, 72-yard drive that took 4:47 and was highlighted by a 30-yard run by running back Ahmad Bradshaw; while Nicks capped the third-quarter scoring when he went untouched into the end zone with 2:58 to go.

The Giants fell behind 2-0 early in the second quarter after committing a safety, which was forced by solid presser from Falcons' defensive end John Abraham on Manning.

After that, the Giants have tallied 10-unanswered points. The first touchdown of the game was scored by Nicks, who caught a four-yard touchdown pass and helped New York take a 7-2 lead with 2:55 to go in the first half.

Atlanta (10-6) began the second half with the ball, but its drive was halted after just five plays.

The Falcons second drive of the third quarter moved inside Giants' territory to their 21-yard line, but was stopped on a 4th-and-inches situation that featured Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan failing to QB sneak the ball forward.
