Michael Vick: Now His Hand Is Not Broken

Stay connected for news and updates

First, Michael Vick has a broken hand. Then he is complaining about not getting calls from officials. Now, it turns out his hand is not broken after all.

Philadelphia coach Andy Reid said today that a CT scan revealed only bruising, and that if the swelling in the hand subsides enough this week Vick could play on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.

Vick was apparently injured when hit by Giants defensive tackle Chris Canty after throwing a pass in the third quarter. Vick landed on the right hand, which he used to try and brace his fall as he hit the ground.

Only once in his career has Vick managed to play all 16 games in a season. If he is unable to start on Sunday the Eagles will have to choose between Vince Young and Mike Kafka.
