Disgruntled defensive end Osi Umenyiora is still a member of the New York Giants this afternoon. Like it or not, it looks like Umenyiora will be a Giant for a while. The team today told Umenyiora's agent, Tony Agnone, that the window for him to seek a trade for Umenyiora is now closed.

Agnone was unsuccessful in convincing any other team to meet the Giants price, a first-round draft pick, and commit to giving Umenyiora the rich new contract he seeks. The New York Post reported that the sides will meet this afternoon to discuss what happens now.

Umenyiora held out the first day of training camp, but has been in attendance every day since. He has not yet worked out, however, either standing on the sidelines or riding a stationary bike.

The Baltimore Ravens may have been the team that most aggressively sought Umenyiora, though several teams had at least some interest. What happens now is anyone's guess.
