Stacy Andrews Injury Status: Backup Offensive Tackle Suffers Pulmonary Embolism In Lungs

All week New York Giants fans kept an eye on the injury status of running back Ahmad Bradshaw, but the focus may change to the health of backup right tackle Stacy Andrews, who suffered a pulmonary embolism in both of his lungs Sunday and is currently receiving treatment. Luckily, Andrew is expected to be released from the hospital Monday.

For those that don't know what a pulmonary embolism is, here's a definition from WebMD:

"Pulmonary embolism is the sudden blockage of a major blood vessel (artery) in the lung, usually by a blood clot . In most cases, the clots are small and are not deadly, but they can damage the lung. But if the clot is large and stops blood flow to the lung, it can be deadly. Quick treatment could save your life or reduce the risk of future problems."

On the Giants depth chart, rookie James Brewer (6-foot-6, 330-pounds) is listed as the next-best option at right tackle.
