NFL Playoff Picture, Week 12: For Giants, NFC East Title Looks Like Only Hope

Stay connected for news and updates

After being humiliated by the New Orleans Saints Monday night by a 49-24 score it is hard to believe that the New York Giants could make the playoffs in the NFC. They can, at least mathematically.

The Giants best chance — maybe their only chance — is to wrest the NFC East title away from the Dallas Cowboys. The Giants (6-5) have two games remaining with the 7-4 Cowboys and have to win both to have any hope. The folks at Cool Standings give the Giants just a 15.3 percent chance of reaching the playoffs.

Theoretically, the Giants still in the wild-card race, but with Chicago, Atlanta and Detroit all at 7-4 it is hard to believe the Giants — with a brutal remaining schedule — will be able to secure one of those spots.
