Both the New York Giants and New York Jets lost in Week 11 — the Jets to the Denver Broncos, 17-13, Thursday night; Giants to the Philadelphia Eagles, 17-0, Sunday night — and the most current national Week 12 NFL Power Rankings penalized each franchise for its failures. On Tuesday, the SB Nation NFL Power Rankings decided to do the same as both the Giants and Jets fell to No. 12 and 13, respectively.
12. New York Giants (6-4, LW: 10): The Giants season could be determined over the next three weeks — at New Orleans, Green Bay, at Dallas.
13. New York Jets (6-4, LW: 13): The Jets will be in a dog fight with the Bengals to secure a wild-card spot. It doesn’t look like they’ll be catching New England in the AFC East.
In the AFC East: The New England Patriots are the top-ranked squad at No. 7 overall, while the Buffalo Bills are No. 17 and the Miami Dolphins are No. 25.
The NFL East features the Dallas Cowboys as the highest-ranked team at No. 10, while the Eagles are 19th and Washington Redskins are No. 27.
