Giants' Jimmy Kennedy Suspended For Violating NFL Policy On Performance Enhancing Drugs

The NFL has reportedly confirmed that the suspension of New York Giants’ defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy is due to Kennedy violating the league’s policy on performance enhancing drugs.

Kennedy will receive a four-game ban.

Beginning this week, Kennedy will miss games against the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers. He will be eligible to return Nov. 20 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Kennedy has been part of a defensive tackle rotations with Chris Canty, Linval Joseph and Rocky Bernard.
Kennedy, 31, is a nine-year NFL veteran who was picked up by the Giants late in preseason to provide depth on the defensive line. Kennedy was kept by the Giants at the expense of another veteran tackle, Gabe Watson. Watson is reportedly still a free agent. Kennedy has seen limited playing time so far, being on the field for only 54 snaps in five games.

The Giants also have defensive tackle Dwayne Hendricks on their practice squad.
