New York Giants Injury News: Zak DeOssie, Chris Snee Suffer Concussions

New York Giants starting right guard Chris Snee and long snapper Zak DeOssie each left Sunday’s 36-25 loss to the Seattle Seahawks with concussions. Rookie fullback Henry Hynoski left the game with a neck burner, forcing tight end Bear Pascoe to fill in at fullback.

DeOssie appeared to suffer his concussion while assisting on a tackle covering a punt in the third quarter. Snee came off the field in the fourth quarter.

In both cases, the replacement turned out to be rookie Jim Cordle. Just signed off the Giants’ practice squad last week Cordle handled long-snapping duties on punts and placekicks without incident. He played briefly at center, with Kevin Boothe moving to guard, when he first replaced Snee. The two players switched positions after a couple of plays, however.

Giants’ head coach Tom Coughlin had little information on either injury after the game. The Giants did, however, say Snee spent the night in a hospital for observation. There was no word on DeOssie.
