Contract talks between Victor Cruz and the New York Giants were tabled for a number of weeks during the season after both sides "agreed to disagree" according to the wide receiver.
Victor Cruz and the New York Giants are back to negotiating the terms of a new contract, but the wide receiver said contract talks were put aside during the regular season as the two sides could not come to an agreement.
During his weekly radio appearance on WFAN, Cruz said of his contract talks, "it got tabled for a couple weeks, mainly because of the two sides agreeing to disagree at the same time." He believes now that the season is over the two sides will get back to trying to agree on terms.
Cruz, 26, was selected to the Pro Bowl after an 86 reception, 1,092 yard and 10 touchdown season in New York this year. He will be a restricted free agent in 2013, but is hopeful a long-term deal can be reached. Cruz had a breakout season with the Giants last year and said, "I feel positive that I'm gonna be in New York for a very long time."
