Packers vs. Giants, Week 12: New York fans credit coordinators after huge win

Al Bello

New York Giants fans were impressed with the game plan put together by the coaches in the 38-10 win over the Green Bay Packers.

The New York Giants snapped a two-game losing streak with a dominant 38-10 win over the previously red-hot Green Bay Packers. The Giants were nearly flawless in every aspect of the game and took a two-game lead in the NFC East over the Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys.

The players on the field certainly deserve plenty of the credit for the phenomenal effort, but Ed Valentine of SB Nation's Giants blog Big Blue View made it a point to credit the coaching as well:

Kevin Gilbride on offense and Perry Fewell on defense had great nights. Gilbride mixed formations, changed some tendencies, reached a little deeper into the playbook and had the packers' defense off-balance all night. Fewell, with Kenny Phillips back in the lineup, dialed up all sorts of different blitz packages, had his corners playing aggressively and used Mathias Kiwanuka exclusively on the defensive line.

The Giants racked up 390 yards of offense, using a balanced attack that had the Packers on their heels all night long. Eli Manning threw three touchdown passes, and most importantly, did not turn the ball over.

Defensively, the Giants put consistent pressure on Aaron Rodgers, sacking him five times and limiting the explosive Packers passing offense to 201 yards. New York also forced two Rodgers turnovers.

New York will be in primetime again in Week 13, as they travel to FedEx Field next Monday night to take on the Redskins.
