Howard Smith-US PRESSWIRE

New York Giants' head coach Tom Coughlin said Monday that he believes the injury suffered by defensive tackle Markus Kuhn is a torn ACL. If so, the injury would end Kuhn's rookie season.

New York Giants' defensive tackle Markus Kuhn left Sunday's 31-13 loss to the Bengals in the fourth quarter and did not return. On Monday, head coach Tom Coughlin said that he believes Kuhn's injury is a torn ACL, but that nothing is official yet. A torn ACL would end Kuhn's rookie season.

Kuhn was a seventh-round selection by the Giants in the most recent NFL draft and because of a number of injuries he stepped into a contributing role immediately on the defensive line. Kuhn has appeared in all 10 of the Giants' games this season, making his first start against the Cleveland Browns in Week 5.

Also suffering injuries in the Week 10 loss were receiver Domenik Hixon and safety Tyler Sash, as well as running back Ahmad Bradshaw, who apparently had x-rays after the game, but did not disclose on what. Caughlin did not provide news on their statuses Monday.

The Giants are off with a bye during Week 11 before returning to the field on Sunday, Nov. 25 against the Green Bay Packers.
