Giants' injury report: Center David Baas misses practice

Al Bello

Five New York Giants did not participate in Wednesday's practice including new addition to the injury report, center David Baas.

The New York Giants were missing five players at Wednesday's practice with center David Baas as the only new addition to the injury report. Baas hurt his ankle in the Giants 27-23 win over the Washington Redskins in Week 7; he was able to finish out the game, but did not practice on Wednesday. If Baas is unable to go on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys the Giants will slide guard Kevin Boothe to center and insert David Diehl as the starting left guard.

The other Giants to miss practice on Wednesday were running back Ahmad Bradshaw (foot), defensive tackle Rocky Bernard (quadriceps), safety Kenny Phillips (knee), and linebacker Jacquian Williams (knee). Bradshaw has been held out of practice, but has played in the last four games for the Giants with his foot injury. Phillips and Bernard have both not played since the Sept. 30 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Williams missed the Giants game against the Redskins. Wide receiver Hakeem Nicks was a full participant in practice with his knee and foot injuries.

Giants TE Travis Beckum participated in his first practice since being placed on the physically unable to perform list in the offseason. Beckum tore his ACL in the Giants Super Bowl victory last season. Now that he is practicing the Giants have three weeks to activate, release, or place him on season-ending injured reserve.

Missing practice for the Week 8 opponent of the the Giants, the Dallas Cowboys, were center Phil Costa (ankle), safety Matt Johnson (hamstring), running back Felix Jones (knee), defensive tackle Sean Lissemore (ankle), running back DeMarco Murray (foot), and linebacker DeMarcus Ware (illness).
