Robert Griffin III comes to the Meadowlands for his introduction to the NFC East.
The New York Giants host the NFL's most exciting player through the first six weeks of the 2012 season on Sunday as the Washington Redskins come to town. Robert Griffin III has lived up to all expectations so far, lighting up opponents. But despite his success in the first month of the season, last week was his best performance to date, as he burst down the sideline for a highlight 76-yard touchdown run to put away the Vikings.
The Giants defense is saying all the right things when it comes to RGIII, giving him his due respect all week. But the Giants pass rush and speed up front will present a unique challenge to the young rookie, and the defending Super Bowl champs certainly won't be caught off guard. New York opened as seven-point favorites, but that has come down a point in most places.
It's RGIII's introduction to the NFC East and it will be on the biggest stage against the world champs. A majority of the country will get the 1 p.m. ET game on FOX in a crowded early Week 7 slate. Thom Brennaman and Troy Aikman will have the call.
