Giants Injury Report: Jacquian Williams exits with calf problem

Howard Smith-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The New York Giants are flying high after beating the San Francisco 49ers 26-3 and walking away relatively unscathed.

The New York Giants went to the West Coast and rolled the San Francisco 49ers 26-3 on Sunday afternoon at Candlestick Park.

To couple with the good feeling of beating a terrific team, Big Blue walked away with only one injury in the contest. Unfortunately, Jacquian Williams was forced to leave the game early with a calf issue. The extent of the problem isn't known with further diagnosis coming on Monday.

If Williams is lost for any significant amount of time, the Giants would without question feel the impact. Williams, a second-year man out of South Florida, has 15 tackles and one sack on the 2012 campaign. He's also a fine special teams player, perhaps his best contribution to the Giants.

Running back Andre Brown (concussion), safety Kenny Phillips (knee) and defensive lineman Rocky Bernard (quad) are also trying to work their way back for next Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins.
