Hakeem Nicks missed Wednesday's practice as he continues to recover from his foot injury.

New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks couldn't participate in Wednesday's practice as he continues to fully work his way back from a foot injury, according to Art Stapleton. Nicks has also been dealing with swelling in his knee.

Also missing practice was tight end Martellus Bennett, who's trying to recover from a hyper-extended knee that he suffered in the first quarter against the Cleveland Browns last weekend.

Head coach Tom Coughlin is hoping that Nicks can be back on the practice field Thursday in preparations for the NFC West-leading San Francisco 49ers. The Niners, of course, have a measure of revenge on their minds after being beat in Candlestick Park last year in the NFC Championship Game.

Nicks has been out since Week 2 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The ex-North Carolina Tar Heel was almost unstoppable in that contest, racking up 10 catches and 199 yards with a touchdown.
