Kenny Phillips had to leave the New York Giants Sunday night loss against the Philadelphia Eagles with a knee injury, although its unclear how much time, if any, the safety will miss.

Phillips had stepped up to make a play on Lesean McCoy near the line of scrimmage, but his knee buckled when he attempted to change directions after a juke by McCoy. He walked off the field under his own power. X-rays were negative, and Philips was deemed doubtful to return with what was termed a sprain. After the game, Tom Coughlin said he thought Philips could be ready to play in next week's game against the Cleveland Browns, but offered no further details on his injury.

Secondary depth has been an issue up the Giants: Terrell Thomas suffered a season-ending surgery in preseason, and last night the team did not play cornerbacks Jayron Hosley and Michael Coe due to hamstring issues. Philips was replaced by Stevie Brown as well as typical nickelback Will Hill on Sunday night. The team returns Tyler Sash in Week 5 after he served a four-week suspension for violating league drug policy.

Phillips' was the only major injury suffered by the Giants in the game.
