NBA Free Agency 2012: Nazr Mohammed Close To Signing With Nets

Stay connected for news and updates

The Brooklyn Nets are close to adding another big man to their roster in center Nazr Mohammed. Mohammed just recently tweeted on Friday that he is on a flight to Newark. The 14-year veteran will more than likely sign for the veteran's minimum, according to Chris Tomasson of Fox Sports Florida.

Mohammed is a journeyman NBA player who has played for seven teams and the Nets will be his eighth team. This past season he played for the Oklahoma City Thunder and appeared in 63 regular-season games where he averaged 2.7 points and 2.7 rebounds while playing in 11 minutes per game.

Mohammed will more than likely be the backup to starter Brook Lopez and provide a defensive presence for the Nets.
