Joe Johnson Trade: Brooklyn Nets Make Johnson Deal Official

The Brooklyn Nets public relations department has been busy all day Wednesday churning out the press releases. Now, the Nets have officially announced the acquisition of Joe Johnson from the Atlanta Hawks via trade. The deal was agreed upon last week but could not be made official until Wednesday.

The Nets acquired the 31-year-old six-time All-Star shooting guard from Atlanta in exchange for Jordan Farmar, Anthony Morrow, DeShawn Stevenson, Jordan Williams, Johan Petro, Houston's 2013 first-round pick and the Nets' second-round draft pick in 2017.

"We are very pleased to add a perennial All-Star caliber player like Joe Johnson to our roster," said Nets general manager Billy King. "Joe is considered one of the premier guards in the NBA, and his skill and talent level will have a very positive impact on our team."

Johnson will team with Deron Williams, Gerald Wallace, Brook Lopez and MarShon Brooks as the Nets enter a new era in Brooklyn.
