From the start of the 2012 NBA free agency period, the Brooklyn Nets have been very active out of the gate and, according to sources, are possibly close to trading for Atlanta Hawks forward Joe Johnson. Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that Johnson could be a Net as soon as Sunday.
Wojnarowski also said that if the Nets cannot work out a deal for Johnson, then Memphis Grizzles forward O.J. Mayo could be next on Brooklyn's radar. Both players could be used as pieces to convince point guard Deron Williams to re-sign with the team and possibly help the process of acquiring center Dwight Howard.
It's not yet known what the Nets are willing to give up for Johnson or willing to give in a contract to Mayo.
