Deron Williams Rumors 2012: Brooklyn Nets Believe They Have Enough To Woo Star Guard

The Brooklyn Nets' original plan to keep Deron Williams -- acquire Dwight Howard and team the duo together -- fell apart when Howard decided to opt in for one more year with the Orlando Magic. But they still believe their Plan B is enough to convince Williams to re-sign.

According to the New York Daily News, the Nets believe they have the inside track on Williams if a few things go right this summer.

Understanding the market and the limitations of Williams' options, the Nets, according to sources, believe that re-signing Gerald Wallace and Brook Lopez, along with upgrading at power forward in free agency, will be enough for Williams' signature. They're also still hoping to acquire Howard, who may or may not request a trade before next season, depending on which way the wind is blowing. But if Williams was demanding a superstar teammate, he isn't anymore.
