Nets 111, Kings 99: Win Streak Reaches Three

Sacramento, CA (Sports Network) - Anthony Morrow connected on six three- pointers en route to 24 points and the Nets took down the Kings 111-99 at Power Balance Pavilion on Saturday.

Deron Williams poured in 19 points and handed out 15 assists, Gerald Wallace netted 18 points and Kris Humphries recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Nets, who secured their season-high third straight victory.

"We're playing better defensively, which is helping us on offense," said Williams after the win. "We're giving a good team effort. It's different guys stepping up. We're just getting great, great team efforts night in and night out."

Tyreke Evans led the Kings with 23 points after missing Friday's victory due to back spasms. Jason Thompson scored 10 points and grabbed 10 boards, while DeMarcus Cousins finished with 14 points and nine rebounds. Sacramento has dropped five of its last six contests.

"Having that energy, that's the one thing that everyone in the NBA is fighting this year, is how to maintain energy throughout the course of a game," remarked Kings head coach Keith Smart. "Our team has done a good job with it. Maybe we were a little tired, but that's happened to everyone."

Thornton sparked a 10-2 run with a three-pointer just past the midway point of the first quarter to give the Kings a 25-16 advantage but two triples from Morrow helped the Nets pull within 35-31 heading into the second.

Wallace scored the first four points of the second to tie the game at 35 and Humphries tallied the final seven of the quarter for the Nets, as they held a 59-56 edge at halftime.

The Kings scored just one field goal over the first five minutes of the third, allowing the Nets to extend their advantage to 74-60 with 7:16 left in the stanza after a dunk from Johan Petro.

Sacramento pulled within seven after an 8-3 surge, but a 12-4 spurt from the visitors restored their lead to double digits and the Nets led 91-76 heading into the final frame.

New Jersey held a 102-83 advantage with 6:51 left in the fourth, but the home team did not go quietly, ripping off 12 straight points to trim the margin to seven with just under four minutes to go in the game.

But Williams responded with four straight points around a Terrence Williams missed three, pressing the lead back to double digits with 2:37 on the clock.
